Geometry and Vector recently put a Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Gen5 through its paces, featuring a full steel conversion kit. This build integrates a Guarder steel slide and frame components with internal upgrades like a TTI TDC hop-up chamber, a PDI 6.01mm inner barrel, and a 4UAD bucking. The result is a sidearm that replaces the standard polymer construction with a heavy, metallic finish and reinforced steel internals.
During the demonstration, the pistol operates with rapid semi-auto and full-auto fire using an extended TTI magazine. While the steel slide increases the weight and gas consumption compared to the original plastic version, the cycle remains consistent. The recoil is noticeable but controlled, and the mechanical sound of the slide racking is distinct throughout the high-rate-of-fire sequences.
The test ends with the slide locking back on an empty chamber, showcasing the functional reliability of the Guarder steel chassis and nozzle assembly. This setup is designed for users who prioritize the heft and tactile feedback of a steel build over the lightweight efficiency of the stock model. It serves as a straightforward look at how a fully upgraded G17 performs under high-speed operation.
