Jaeger Precision: Cybergun CANiK SFX Rival GBB

The Cybergun CANiK SFX Rival GBB Airsoft Pistol review begins with the Jaeger Precision unboxing a package that looks to have survived a long-term hostage situation with customs and a game of football at the UPS warehouse. Before diving into the main event, he briefly explores some new tracer units, including one designed specifically for a rifle muzzle brake. He admits to buying one purely for the aesthetic, proving once again that looking cool on the field is often more important than actually being able to hit anything.

When the pistol finally makes its appearance, it is revealed in a gray and gold color scheme that the he describes as wacky. Whilst the gold finish is a bit duller than expected, the full-size frame is a welcome upgrade over previous, more awkward models. The build quality receives mixed reviews; the slide moves smoothly, but the outer barrel has more rattle than a box of LEGOs. To add to the drama, the first magazine tested immediately began leaking, because apparently, a review isn't authentic without a bit of mechanical failure.

Performance-wise, the pistol turns out to be surprisingly consistent, hovering right around the one-joule mark. The trigger is a unique, hammerless design that feels more like you are slowly squishing a valve than snapping a mechanical break, which takes some adjustment. Despite the oddities and the "sawdust" covering the gun from its damaged packaging, Jaeger Precision says that it is a refreshing break from the endless sea of Glocks and Sigs, even if the gold parts aren't winning any beauty pageants.
