The battery compartment is located in the butt; to access the battery compartment, just remove the rugged rubber shoulder pad via its two pins and switch out the battery. Overall this is an amazing replica of the real steel 50 cal and the look, feel and finish is incredible. Having a 50 cal in your Armory, that is just amazing.
