The Chicom chest rig is a lightweight and versatile chest rig with a distinctive design and three pockets that can fit AK/AR magazines. The rig can be extended with additional MOLLE/PALS panels and has a flat pocket inside for documents or inserts. The Chicom chest rig was originally created by the Chinese army in the 1940s and became popular during the Vietnam War.
