Explosive Enterprises: Resurrecting The LBV

Explosive Enterprises recently conducted a small experiment to replicate the classic ITLBV vest, also known as the LBV-88, using modern gear. The setup combined a Crossfire DZ-Rig, a Spiritus 34A reproduction, and a True North MHA with a Safariland QLS plate and MOLLE adapter. For pouches, the experimenters used a Crossfire Butterbar pouch, a CSM Gear dump pouch, an HSGI Taco gen 2, and three Nixieworks triple 5.56 mag pouches with their buckles removed. The rig was completed with two QASM buckles and two regular buckles with harvested webbing to create a back strap. This setup effectively recreated the combined vest/belt concept of the original design with contemporary components.
