Airsoft Cloner DIY Delta Force CAR-15 Flashlight Setup

Airsoft Cloner demonstrates a creative, budget-friendly approach to recreating the classic 1990s Delta Force CAR-15 flashlight setup. Rather than hunting down expensive and often underperforming vintage QXL dive lights, he suggests a "we have it at home" version. This DIY project is inspired by the legendary gear used during operations like Desert Storm, proving that looking like a high-speed operator doesn't always require a high-speed bank account.

To achieve the desired look, the build utilizes an array of household items and cheap hardware store finds. An inexpensive Energizer flashlight serves as the core, while its body is thickened using padding from a guitar stand and a rubber tube from a broom handle. A microphone stand foot and some strategically placed electrical tape help mimic the bulky profile and side switch of the original equipment. It is essentially a science fair project that happens to be attached to a rifle.

The final assembly involves securing this Frankenstein-like contraption to a spare handguard using heavy-duty zip ties instead of traditional hose clamps. While Airsoft Cloner admits the flashlight is quite large and takes up most of the handguard, it successfully captures the "Scud Hunter" aesthetic. The result is a piece of airsoft gear that provides the right 90s visual flavor for a fraction of the cost, even if it is held together by rubber and hope.
