Diaboloman provides a detailed review of the AAC-C1 Athena sniper rifle from AAC Action Army, which was sent to him by Skirm Shop for testing and presentation. Compatible with multiple power systems—gas, CO2, and spring—the rifle is initially showcased with its default gas-powered functionality, with plans for a separate video focusing on its spring conversion.
Priced under €200, the rifle boasts an affordable yet standard design resembling a pellet gun and includes a package with a 50-round magazine, cleaning rod, CO2 system, and features such as QD sling attachments, a safety button, and standard Action Army magazines. While mechanical sights are basic and non-adjustable, the rifle lacks an optic rail by default, but includes a Harris-type bipod mount, a rigid polymer stock with textured grip, a rubber butt plate, and hop-up adjustments using the VSR10 type, with the cocking lever offering a shorter stroke reminiscent of a VSR10/Striker hybrid.
Testing reveals that gas-powered performance with 0.28g BBs is inconsistent, with FPS dropping after a few shots; however, after converting the rifle to spring power and upgrading its internal parts, Diaboloman achieves much better results, ultimately concluding that the rifle performs admirably with these modifications despite its gas system shortcomings.
