Mokei Paddock explain in the video what this new product is all about... "We have developed an independent mechanical variable pre-cocking mechanism! This mechanism provides the emotional trigger feeling that only a mechanical trigger can offer, without the need for electronic control. Previously, the only non-electronically controlled pre-cocking electric gun was Tokyo Marui's "PSG-1". However, it lacked fine adjustment of timing, making it somewhat difficult to use.
But now, the MAP sector gear installed in the CAT electric gun has a double structure like a planetary gear compared to a normal sector gear. The cut-off cam part that determines the timing of energization is separately structured, allowing for fine adjustment. This enables mechanical pre-cocking firing without using any electronic control!
Here's how to set it up:
- Remove the magazine and battery.
- Release the pre-cock by using a tool to push the piston release lever at the base of the grip. Be careful as any bullets left in the chamber will be fired at this time!
- Push the takedown pin using a tool. If it's hard, use a pin punch and a rubber mallet. Be careful not to hit too hard as the pin will not come off completely.
- Press the charging handle slightly to release the takedown lock and perform a takedown.
- Adjust the pre-cocking using a tool on the MAP sector gear.
- Move the sector gear to an adjustable position.
- The MAP sector gear has an internal latch structure, and you can adjust pre-cocking by shifting the latch and changing the position of the cut-off cam.
- Hook your tool into the hole and push in the direction of the spring to release the latch and make adjustments. Do not push in the axial direction.
- The MAP sector gear has numerical memory for adjustment. The standard at shipment is 8, but it may vary slightly depending on individual tone width which is 6.5 to 8.5.
- Lowering the value (counterclockwise) will strengthen pre-cocking.
- Pre-cocking will be stronger if it is closer to 7, but be aware that depending on your battery, this setting may overrun.
- Also, if you lower it too much, semi-lock is likely to occur.
- Turn the large tooth of the sector gear downward and then close the upper receiver.
- Be aware that certain strengths may affect bullet feeding and trajectory.
- If you are not able to shoot well, please make fine adjustments.
- If pre-cocking is too strong, semi-auto will enter a burst state.
Please note that these instructions are intended for users who are familiar with handling such equipment and should be followed carefully to avoid any damage or mishaps."
