Airsoft Action is transitioning to its "GEN III" phase starting at the end of March, marking a significant change in leadership and digital strategy. Longtime managers Nige and Bill are stepping down to make way for a new crew that will oversee both the magazine and its web-based news platforms. As part of this handover, the current website will be taken offline for an "operational pause" while the backend infrastructure is updated to support a revamped magazine format and an increased output of daily short-form web articles.

The publication is joining the USA-based Swanson Media Group (SMG), led by Trampas Swanson, who intends to expand the brand’s reach into the American market. To ensure continuity, editorial oversight will be handled by veteran contributor John "Boycie" Turrell, who takes over as Editor. Bill will remain involved in the short term as an Editorial Consultant to assist with the transition, while the existing pool of deputy editors and contributors will continue their roles under the new ownership.

This new era aims to integrate Airsoft Action with SMG’s digital magazine, Armed Lifestyle, facilitating cross-promotion between the airsoft and firearms training industries. The new management team has committed to maintaining the publication's journalistic integrity and safeguarding its extensive back-issue archive. Once the technical transition is complete, the brand will relaunch with a dual focus on its traditional digital magazine and a modernized, high-frequency news service.
