AirSIX TV takes a look at the Maruyama MP9, a gas blowback airsoft submachine gun modeled after a Swiss design. It features a polymer frame and weighs approximately 1.4 kilograms without a magazine. The unit comes with a silencer and an ambidextrous magazine that holds 45 rounds, though it does not include official licensing marks.
The internal design includes a rotating barrel mechanism and steel components in the trigger assembly. While the gas efficiency allows for several magazine cycles per fill, the recoil is limited by the bolt's low mass. Accuracy testing at ten meters shows a distribution of shots that can include occasional deviations from the main group.
Maintenance may be required for certain pins and screws that can loosen during operation. The trigger pull is characterized by a long travel and a weight of nearly three kilograms. Its size and weight make it a tool for close-quarters environments where portability is a consideration.
