4UAD Smart Airsoft: We Just Experienced Filipino Gun Culture

The 4UAD Smart Airsoft team takes a detour from their airsoft roots when they attended the IPSC Action Air World Shoot 2025 to dive headfirst into the vibrant gun culture of the Philippines. Their journey begins in Iloilo City, where they hop between tiny, car-sized shops filled with welcoming owners and modern, air-conditioned ranges that feel more like luxury lounges. Along the way, they encounter everything from high-tech speedloaders to antique revolvers, even stopping to perform some emergency "surgery" on a shopkeeper's broken airsoft Glock to prove their tech credentials.

As the crew moves from browsing to blasting, they quickly realize that real recoil is a bit more demanding than their usual battery or gas-powered gear. One team member admits to being a bit rusty after a long hiatus, initially producing a target that looks more like it was hit by a confused shotgun than a precise pistol. Fortunately, they receive a masterclass from a local shooting legend, Mr. Nelson, who teaches them that proper grip and technique are universal, whether you're firing plastic pellets or actual lead.

The trip culminates at Mikey’s Firing Range, where the group finally settles into a rhythm, graduating from humbling misses to rapid-fire success. They even get a taste of the high life by testing out "Ferrari-grade" competition pistols and an Israeli Galil that definitely packs more punch than a standard airsoft rifle. By the end of the adventure, the team is covered in gunpowder residue and wearing permanent grins, having learned that while airsoft is fun, nothing beats a bit of "recoil therapy" to clear the mind.
