Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour Gets The Meltdown Update

Gungho Cowboy

Lucky are the mobile users nowadays. Gone are the days that when you get bored and all you have on your mobile phone is the snakes games. Now, with the mobile broadband being a must have requirement when choosing a mobile phone contract, even those in trains and buses can get into the middle of an FPS game and blast other players whilst on their way to their next business meetings.

If you have been playing the "Call of Duty" of mobile FPS gaming, then you will welcome the new upgrade of Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, the most sophisticated FPS title in the Modern Combat series for mobile gaming. Modern Combat 4 has much better graphics and even more advanced game play than the previous titles, and exploits the advanced graphics in the new iPad and iPhone models, especially those with the "Retina" display.

As mentioned, it's the "Call of Duty" of the mobile FPS gaming, which some say it's much closer to the Black Ops II style rather than Modern Warfare. It has a good single player campaign setting but what is great about Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is its multiplayer component. So for those who are done and bored now with repeating the single player campaign,  can jump into the multiplayer game with several maps and has the usual multiplayer game scenarios you see in the other multiplayer games.

The Meltdown upgrade of Modern Combat 4: Zero brings three maps to the game: Fracture, Extraction and Backfire. Fracture and Backfire are set in Barcelona whilst Extraction is set in Antarctica.  One new multiplayer game type, which is the Bomb Squad, is something familiar to Counter Strike Players --- plant a bomb and prevent the OPFOR for discovering and diffusing it. The other game type is for you to be always ahead of the OPFOR whilst they try to prevent you from sabotaging devices.

Two weapons are also added in the upgrade. The first one is the FS CTK-12 – Charbtek Special Forces Sniper Rifle and the other is 40mm Thor GLP – Grenade Launcher Pistol so you can choose to be a sniper or a thumper with the GLP depending on the level of destruction you want to do.

There are more features in the Meltdown upgrade such as carrying more ammo, dropping a live grenade before dying like in COD MW multiplayer, faster reloads, and increasing accuracy whilst in a crouching position.

Getting the game, if you haven't installed it yet, will cost you just  £4.99 and this game is available for iOS and Android Devices so check Google Play and Apple Appstore. Still dirt cheap as compared to those FPS games that you buy for your consoles and PCs and you still get to play commando even on the road or killing time at a café. The Meltdown upgrade is already available for iPhone and iPad users, and the Android version should be coming next. See you online then if you get it. Who knows? We might be the ones fragging you whilst we are on the train on our way to the next airsoft event.
