"Men In Black" Animatic About A Day In The War In Iraq

Logan

We have watched movies of real stories of the men and women who were in combat in the War On Terror, with the war in Afghanistan already on its 12th year. We have seen some of these, pick up awards from various awards-giving bodies and give us an eye view of the ever changing frontlines. Even fiction stories of the War on Terror have gotten a lot of eyeballs and big bucks.

But the documentaries are still the best films of what the War on Terror is, as we get to watch and hear firsthand stories of those who were there. One of the documentaries that we were not able to write about as it was released before Popular Airsoft was launched, was the "Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience" which is a collection of stories written by servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan. The documentary was put together by Richard E. Robins and released in February 2007. Support for the production was given by the National Endowment for the Arts.

When it was released in 2007, it was positively received by the critics and was even nominated as Best Documentary Feature during the 80th Academy Awards.

If you haven't watched the documentary, you can always purchase a DVD from Amazon.com where there are few copies left as of this writing, but they are expecting more to be delivered. There is an interest again in this documentary as brought about by the release of the "Men In Black" Animatic, which is a comic book illustration in video form. Animator and Filmmaker Evan Parsons and Colby Buzzell put together an amazing 7-minute video of a day in Iraq as an excerpt from the documentary.

Watch the video below and find out if you want to further watch the documentary, which we recommend you do.
