While Metal Gear fans are waiting for the release of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, a new revelation was made by Konami during the Pre-E3 Conference  which is slated to be on the 11th to the 13th of June 2013. Metal Gear maker, Hideo Kojima, reveals that Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain will be having Kiefer Sutherland as Snake for this upcoming title of the series.

"I wanted Snake to have a more subdued performance expressed through subtle facial movements and tone of voice rather than words," said Kojima. Also Phantom Pain on its fictional timeline, is set in 1984 putting Snake at the age of 49. Ground Zeroes is set in 1975 and will serve as a prequel to Phantom Pain.

While Kiefer Sutherland, best known for the 24 television series, has admitted that he's not a gamer, he is very much aware of the game, being one the most iconic video game series of all time. With this, he stated that he's honored to play the character of Snake for the video game.

Many fans will wonder what will happen to David Hayter, who has been the voice of Snake in the English language version in all game titles. Being a fan favorite they are hoping that he will be back for the next title in the series but may be in for a disappointment since Kojima said that the Metal Gear Solid V will be his final Metal Gear game. For you to know the difference between the voices of Hayter and Sutherland, here are two videos as posted by Kotaku. You will notice in the trailer of the Phantom Pain the connection between at Ground Zeroes and showcases the Fox Engine.

The big question right now, is with the combined release of  both Ground Zeroes, being the prequel, and Phantom Pain. How Konami will do the trick without compromising their revenues with the release of two titles at almost the same time, will be thing to watch out. The best thing for now is to watch the Pre-E3 Press Conference below to find more clues of the game.
