It's Back To Tokyo Again With The 72nd Victory Show Japan

Gungho Cowboy

Now that we have three big events in the airsoft calendar already in the past: the Hong Kong International Toy and Games Fair, SHOT Show (USA) and IWA & Outdoor Classics (Germany), it's now back to Japan where the first of The Victory Show Japan series organised by Sam's Militariya will take place.

The 72nd Victory Show Japan will be the first for 2014 and for this year it is scheduled to be held on the 30th of March (72nd), 29th of June (73rd), and the 23rd of September (74th). If you haven't heard about this event, here's a short description from SAM's Militariya:

The Victory show IS a Small sales event Exclusively organized by Sam's Militariya. With over 150 Dealers attending the show, you CAN BE sure That this event HAS a Lot of Authentic and Interesting items for all customers.

150 dealers for a Militaria and Airsoft event that’s held thrice a year a "Small sales event"? Perhaps small, but as compared to other events that have airsoft segments in other parts of the world? This is already a big event especially if airsoft enthusiasts and collectors are concerned.

As always, the Victory Show will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center and doors will open at 1030H JST on the 30th of March 2014. The format is a "flea market" one so expect to haggle if you intend to buy some stuff and get them at great deals. This is great as compared to other trade fairs where you cannot expect to buy items you fancy on the spot and it's always business-to-business interaction.

If you are patient enough to dig, you might find a collectible, a rare item whether it's a classic airsoft gun or a period military item.

The Victory Show is also supported by the ASGK and thus, they are co-hosts of this event with their "ASGK Festival" as part of the event. ASGK is the Japanese Game Gun Cooperative which governs the activities and production of toy/model gun makers and includes some of the well-known Japanese airsoft companies such as Tokyo Marui and Western Arms. This group has a very high standard in regulating airsoft guns, especially those aimed for the Japanese market to ensure such products comply with government regulations, which are also very strict.

If you're in Japan, you might want to put this in your calendar to visit. The good thing though is that if you miss the 72nd event, make sure you attend the June or September as these are the months that you can see the latest releases in the airsoft market.

We'll get a report of this event, courtesy of Hyperdouraku on the 31st of March.
