IGN Gives All You Need To Know About Titanfall Beta

Gungho Cowboy

How I wish I could play the Titanfall Beta. I haven't signed up yet since I might just let it go to waste not finding enough time to play it come Valentine's Day, which is the release day of  the Beta version. That also means a lot of ruined dates when gamers who have signed up for the Beta would rather play the on the 14th of February rather than be amorous and go out with flowers, chocolates, and a trip to a fancy dinner with a partner.

But when the game gets officially released later on, then I would definitely find time for it. For now, I will let the more adventurous try the Beta version even if it will still be full of bugs just to try and start kicking the tires of this much anticipated video game.

The video game media have been let in to try the Beta version together with a select others before hordes of Beta players overwhelm the servers tomorrow. I tried to find a very definitive story on the Beta game experience, and I was lucky to find IGN UK's Games Editor, Daniel Krupa, writing about his experience coupled with videos to show you how it felt playing Titanfall.

Daniel tells us that it's a whole new FPS gaming experience playing as Titan pilot. He explains the ways to take down a Titan and why prudent use of the Titan is advised rather than just fighting it out inside the Mech until it explodes. He also explains about the AI units, called Grunts and the Spectres that are easier to kill  than human players but spice up the game to even out the game and thus, play an important role. The weapons are also different, especially the Smart Pistol which allows you to lock on a target and if there's a high probability of a kill, you can just fire away and the projectile will follow the locked-on target even he has already passed your sights and gone around a corner.

One thing that I did like in his story is the use of the Titan not only as an assault Mech in which you pilot it and become the hero of the day. Even if you dismount from the Titan, you can still use it remotely to control choke points or assault areas without you needing to be in it. It can also provide overwatch, following you and protecting your approach. But still it is best that you pilot the Titan inside it to experience the main come on of this game, highly trained and specialised pilots with giant Mech Warriors.

There are more videos that those posted at Daniel's story at IGN. I checked the YouTube Channel of IGN and found a good list of recently posted videos related to Titanfall Beta. If you have signed up as a Beta player, it best the IGN story and watch the videos.

Enjoy the Beta play on Friday. As for me, it's going to be a date with someone rather with a screen.
