Slowly circulating around the interwebs and getting attention of airsofters and gun bloggers alike is this AR-15 holster called the Special Application Rifle Retention Platform (SARRP) which is quite a mouthful to pronounce and it's better to call it as an SBR Holster. The SARRP term might be useful for the Patent Office since it's how Patent Examiners want to call inventions in terms that tend to complicate how a device works no matter how simple the function it does.

The SAARP is made by Jeremy Ludiano, who seems to be a former Marine and now an  airsoft enthusiast when I looked at his Facebook Page. Anyway, watch the video below if you like the concept of a holstered AR:

One Gun Blog, Everyday No Days Off (ENDO), called it the DERRRP or the Deplorable Extremely Retarded Rifle Retention Platform, perhaps for lack of words to show some disdain to the concept saying that "I don’t care what make/model of operator AF SBR you own… those things are NOT that light, so you’re not going to want to have it on your hip for an extended period of time.  I want to see him run with that thing on!"

Though he agrees that this product might be useful for airsofters who want a holster concept for an SBR or a Patriot Pistol, I try to look at this from the perspective of a real steel shooter, and I can just imagine the weight of the AR on one side of the hip that would be sore too after prolonged use. Why not balance the weight with two of these on each side so the soreness would also be spread out?

I don't know if the inventor intends this for the real steel or airsoft markets, or both, he hasn't clarified it yet. Perhaps some of us are a little bit jaded for concepts like this, but let's see how this product circulates when it gets into the hands of some testers, whether they full metal jackets or plastic BBs. It would be nice to see it  tested by others apart from the inventor.
