How about a replica of this for a change?

NO! Not the woman, the body armour! My colleagues have been writing about their wishes of real steel guns that should be replicated for airsoft use. For me, I'm more about having comfortable and lighter loadouts, as I always prefer a fighting load since I would not want to carry too many things on me. Being lighter means you can move faster, and speed kills. Drop Leg mag pouch, canteen pouch, holster, dump pouch and a radio, apart from the airsoft guns, would be enough for me.

This brings to the body armour or vest. I have been wearing the PECA replica nowadays, and together with my Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig, are the lightest body protection that I can wear and be able to move swiftly rather than be cumbersome. I am always on the lookout of cool vests and rigs that I can wear comfortable and my eyes has set on the Maniple-1 Tactical Armor Carrier made by P2 Systems.

This is a hybrid body armour which was created as a "marriage" of P2 Systems' Cohort-1 and Hastati-1 tactical armor carriers. While maintaining the benefits of its "parents" the Maniple-1 is further streamlined and can be easily put on.

Let's let P2 Systems say more about this product:

An intelligent MOLLE arrangement allows for a full single-stack magazine load-out on the main panel, without the need to increase bulk by double-stacking or hassling with an unsecure and time-consuming cummerbund system.

Wide adjustability range, form-fitting contour and oversize shoulder straps hold the weight of the unit close to the body (without constricting the wearer's breathing), distribute the load evenly across its contact surface, and securely maintain your equipment in the same place every time, despite whatever vigorous activity you may be engaged in or how quickly you throw it on.

All seams are double-stitched and only the most durable of materials are utilized.

With universal front, rear and side ESAPI/ESABI plate pouches, our own streamlined soft armor panel compartments and available accessories such as integrated slings, the Legion-1 vest is one of the most versatile on the market in that it is equally adept as a tac-vest, plate-carrier, or LBV.

From the no-joke pull handles on all of the opening edges to the semi-quick-release design that can be put back together as quickly as it comes apart (a few seconds) and can't be triggered inadvertently, the Cohort-I vest is definitely a refined piece of kit developed by those who actually have to wear such things every day.

While there are accessories such as the groin protector and the ballistic collar, you'll just need the Integra Sling as the add-on for you to ditch the rifle sling you use. However, since it costs US$450, I am hoping a replica maker would take notice and perhaps make one that hits the sweet spot for the airsoft budget.
