Giving Your Sub-Compact The Firepower It Needs

Gungho Cowboy

This blog entry from the Firearms Blog makes me want to tell airsoft manufacturers that they better get their asses moving to make one for the airsoft market. As we have seen the proliferation of airsoft Glock carbine conversion kits, is it also appropriate that they also provide higher-capacity magazines for these converted carbines to be used to their full potential?

Unfortunately, existing gas blowback magazines cannot go beyond a 40-50 round capacity. Is it possible, perhaps, though I am no position to state that it is feasible, given that higher capacity gas blowback magazines would take up an added weight making airsoft gas blowback pistols and even with their conversion kits more unwieldy to handle.

There have been existing C-Mags for various AEGs, such as those for the M4, AK, and even 9mm airsoft replicas. What I want is a C-Mag that can be fitted to an Glock pistol, but the only Glock that can accommodate this is the Tokyo Marui Glock 18C AEP and its clones. However, there's no RONI airsoft replica (and other Glock airsoft carbine conversion kits) that have been developed to accommodate the AEP. Now this is the problem. If it can done, these compact airsoft guns can work even better during CQB games.

So that's the dilemma, wishing for something that may just fall unto deaf ears. But then, it won't hurt to wish. I guess you would agree with me to have such C-Mags for this Glocks, especially the AEPs that can be fitted on a carbine conversion kit.

For real steel shooters, they don't have the problem anymore as Beta Mag have their C-Mag developed which is now the 9MM Beta Mag 100 round magazine, giving Glocks the firepower they need to go up against automatic weapons, especially the 9mm submachiine guns. If coupled with the carbine conversion kits, you have a converted compact that can shoot longer against those using standard magazines.

But if you already have an existing C-Mag for 9mms, what you need to convert it for the Glock pistol is what Firepower Solutions Inc. (FSI) developed. The FSI Conversion Tower allows you to mate your 9MM 100 round C-Mag to Glocks 17, 18, 19, and other sub-compacts. The adapter then makes you full use of the existing 9mm C-Mags without buying the 9mm Mag 100 round magazine.

Here are two videos which show how it works:

Now, if only these can be done for airsoft gas blowback pistol magazines, or even the Glock 18C AEP, we can ditch those compact AEGs on our way to CQB games. Standard pistol magazine users would tremble in fear when they see you armed with it  and means you can outlast and subject them to superior firepower. Airsoft pistol games would never be the same.
