Get MagGrips And Get A Grip With Your (Airsoft) Life

Logan

It's always the simple things that will make a difference and it's no different with MagGrips, a simple but innovative idea that do not answer a problem but rather offer an improvement. And that's how innovation happens, always improving on something. The idea is simple and it makes me wonder why nobody ever thought about it before.

MagGrips LLC was formed by three friends who dig tactical equipment and decided to make their own products for a specific group of firearms. Using 3M Industrial Strength Pressure Adhesive to attach the rubberized textured panels, they started making the custom grips for Magpul products and are slowly expanding the availability of these grips to other firearms. The concept doesn't need much explanation --- it's there to improve you a firmer grip on the magazine to have faster reloads. This made me think of instances where I fumbled with my AR mags whilst reloading.

If you think that you want MagGrips for a certain firearm's magazine, say the AK-47 family, then why not contact them and they might just oblige you.

I see full benefit in using the MagGrips with Safariland AR-15 Tactical Mag Pouch as the magazines are more exposed and allowing you to quickly have a full access and grip of the magazine when reloading. If the magazine is comes with MagGrips, an even faster reload time can be achieved though I would still recommend practicing magazine changes to be more proficient in it.

The MagGrips are not inexpensive add-ons to your magazine or foregrip, and if you are interested, here are the following models which MagGrips are ready for:

MagGrips AFG™ (Angled Fore-Grip) Grip Kit

MagGrips PMAG® 30 Maglevel Magazine Grip Kit

MagGrips Tapco 20 Round Detachable SKS Magazine Grip Kit

MagGrips PMAG® 30 Standard Magazine Grip Kit

MagGrips USGI AR-15 Magazine Grip Kit

The MagGrips sets range from US$5.95 for the AFG to US$12.95, depending on what magazine model you use. I am not sure if the existing sets are airsoft magazine ready since AEG magazines are somewhat wider or their contours may not exactly be the same as the real steel magazines. You will need to contact them to confirm and if you have already purchased a set for airsoft magazines, please tell us if you did some modding to fit your mags.

A set comes with an alcohol cleaning pad to clean your magazine, clearing it of mud, soil, or smudges to provide a smooth service before applying the MagGrips. Here is a video on how to prep the MagGrips.
