First Person Account On The Death Of Bin Laden Coming Out On 9/11

Logan

The news about the U.S. Navy SEALs is just not stopping, whether for commercial or political purposes, more and more information about them are coming out. But what everybody is anticipating is a more accurate account on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. With a movie coming out by the end of the year, and a book about the raid on Abbottabad already out, one more book will be published by next month that will set the account straight.

Written under a pseudonym "Mark Owen",  "No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama bin Laden" is said to be scheduled for release on the 11th of September, to commemorate the September 11 attacks ordered by Bin Laden. The book is said to be a detailed account of the assault in the compound of the world's most wanted terrorist in Pakistan. Written as an autobiography, the author also wrote about his life, starting as a child in Alaska to becoming a member SEAL Team Six.

The book was kept under wraps by the publisher, Dutton, a boutique imprint of the Penguin Group, one of the largest publishing houses in the world.  There are no claims yet if the entries in the book have been cleared by US SOCOM and they have not made any comment yet. There might be some vetting going in the background to ensure that it gets clear for mass printing prior to the book launch.

The book is co-authored by Kevin Maurer, an embedded journalist who worked with troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and already has worked on four books previously.

The question about the book if it will set a totally different narrative compared to the previously printed stories about the takedown of Bin Laden. One is the account that was published by the New Yorker Magazine, which was very comprehensive. Another is the "SEAL Target: Geronimo" written by Chuck Pfarrer which is also claimed to be an inside story. And of course the anticipated movie "Zero Dark Thirty" directed by Kathryn Bigelow of the "Hurt Locker" which is aimed for the big screen.

Speaking of politics, some are apprehensive that this book would help in the reelection efforts of President Obama, as it will be released two months before the 2012 U.S. Presidential Elections. "Zero Dark Thirty" was moved to a December released in consideration of such. But since nobody can say what the contents of the book is all about, if it will put the President in a good or bad light,  everybody's holding their fire until it gets officially released or initial copies have been released to book reviewers.

Either way, we are looking forward in great anticipation of the release of this book as it will provide an first hand narrative of what happened that led to the demise of the Osama Bin Laden.
