On The First Day Of The British Airsoft Show

OptimusPrime

It was a muddy start for us at the British Airsoft Show, which is the one of the attractions during the British Airsoft Show which is ongoing since yesterday and will end later. With the wet and cold weather hitting the British Midlands, it was also a wet and cold day for us when we got to Stoneleigh Park in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

As consolation for trudging through the mud and parked not at the preferred parking area as we were late (we got caught in traffic as there was an accident along the motorway), Masterchief and I were not alone as people who arrived late seemed to comprise a large contingent of visitors. With the folks from Stirling Airsoft being the first to greet us, surely started our day right.

It was actually a maze as several buildings were connected together to form the exhibit area for the British Shooting Show, the British Airsoft Show has its own area, though it was situated at the back area. We didn’t mind, since being late made us enter from the back area, which means nearer the airsoft area.

As always, some of the well-known most active airsoft retailers were there: RedWolf Airsoft, JD Airsoft, Badger Tac, Milspec Solutions, Shop at the Grange, and Enola Gaye with other airsoft retailers which we have seen for the first time at exhibits were there. Stirling Airsoft actually got half of the area of the British Airsoft Show for their Indoor CQB demo area and they did attract a lot of attention as visitors were able to watch the demos and skirmishes safely through glass panels put up just for that purpose.

Yosser of Airsoft Odyssey was there too and we expect to see him later again, was active taking videos of the exhibit area and we did agree that as per airsoft exhibit, the British Airsoft Show, since it's part of the British Shooting Show got a lot of foot traffic as recreational shooters, practical shooters, and hunters also visited the Airsoft area. Whilst the British Airsoft Show was dwarfed by airguns, shotguns, and hunting accessories and supplies, airsoft surely made its presence felt as it's the only area where RIFs in the form Military and Law Enforcement weaponry were in full display coupled with people in their loadouts.

We have posted over 200 photos taken during the Show(s) at the Popular Airsoft Facebook Page for you to look at.  It's a  busy weekend for us as we need to cover the Sunday portion and thus, we cannot give you our full assessment. What we can say, it is looking good.

We'll follow through with the full British Airsoft Show report, with the day 2 Photos on Tuesday, 12 February and hopefully the video will have been uploaded. So stay tuned.
