Kotaku, the gaming website, got the first dibs at breaking out initial details of the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Whilst we don't know yet when it will have its definite release, the leaked details as posted at the website would assure you that you'll be in for some globe trotting.  But there are some new guns that are added to the arsenal. We don''t yet if they will be part in the single player game, or as perks in the multiplayer.

Kotaku made a spoiler here, revealing the plot, but expect this to be another game where the Russians are the bad games, but what is assured here is that there will be missions in the New York, London, Paris, Hamburg, and Mogadishu, the last one may just give you another "Black Hawk Down" experience. There are two game developers working on the project this time, Sledgehammer Games for the single player, and Raven Software for the multiplayer. I wonder what happened to Treyarch, which developed the COD: Black Ops game.

Going into the game details as revealed by Kotaku, there are around 20 multiplayer maps, 5 survival modes, and 7 mission modes. Furthermore, there are two characters introduced in this game, given that Ghost died in the MW2, but the main heroes, Soap, Capt. Price, and Makarov are there, and hunted by Makarov, whilst the US is still at war against the Russians. You get to play roles of various Special Units as you get around some of the famous cities in the world.

Anyway, as an airsoft player, I am more interested in what new weapons introduced in this latest installment of the game. Since there guns that haven't had their airsoft version made, video games are the next best thing getting to get some experiece with these guns:

Remington RSASS

This rifle was developed by Remington Arms, in cooperation with JP Rifles. As its acronym says, this is a semi-automatic sniper system.

Keltec KSG

A 14-shot 12 gauge shot gun, and one of the baddest shotguns released.

Magpul FMG

I guess I don't have to write more about this. This is one of the most discussed Magpul product in the airsoft community given that a replica has been made for airsoft.

Striker/Streetsweeper

Not exactly a new weapon as it's been designed in the 1980s. Made in South Africa, it is a high capacity combat shotgun.

Special mention also are the Skorpion machine pistol, and the G36C which already have their airsoft versions.

As for the loadout, the OPS-CORE helmet rails are seen in the screen shots, but as for the other loadouts, we'll have to wait for the full trailer and more leaked photos for the game. All we can do right now is just anticipate its release in the latter part of the year.
