Close Call for a High School Superstar

Logan

This is a one of a kind story, an all American kid who has a bright future ahead and while in school, ticks all the right boxexs on the list that even cheerleaders would swoon over this kid. Great grades, football varsity, and juggling three part time jobs in between school work, home chores, and the football team. Justin Sexton is that kid that parents would love...

...until he drove to school his father's F-250 truck that did not have a parking permit at his school. The school's assistant principal wanted to search the vehicle, and after consulting his father who told him to allow the search to avoid further suspension, was found with a broken and unloaded AR-15 airsoft rifle among the tools on the flatbed portion of the truck.

While he does play airsoft, he claimed that he only has his airsoft pistol which he has left at home. It may have been left by one of his friends during one of their skirmish games they do during off-school. But the zero-tolerance policy of the school, which includes airsoft guns in the prohibited list, to prevent another Columbine, puts him under the threat of criminal prosecution --- and to snuff his bright future.

But an understanding community fought for his future. Read more about this story at The Hook and see what lessons everyone can learn from it.
