Prior to the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, many had anticipated that Simon Riley, the man also known as "Ghost" in the Modern Warfare Series, will be a main character in the latest title in the COD franchise. It was very logical to assume he will be part of COD: Ghosts since he is the most famous "Ghost" character in FPS video games and part of the COD Modern Warfare; and he even had a comic series devoted to his life.

To every COD fan's disappointment, Ghost was not part of COD: Ghosts, but the K-9 character in the game is named Riley.

Now, and it seems to be confirmed, is that Captain John Price, will be finally appearing in COD: Ghosts as based on this teaser tweet from Infinity Ward:

Is this a tweet to pull our legs or is it something real? I believe that this is much more firm as compared to Simon Riley appearing in COD: Ghosts. The proof is that Captain Price has appeared in every Call of Duty title with the exception of COD: Ghosts. Thus, having a Captain Price in every COD title is a set tradition than the other characters in COD, where most of them died and only Captain Price remained standing as shown in COD: MW3 where Soap and Yuri, also the main characters in Modern Warfare series, were also killed.

Now we know that this is a come-on for Modern Warfare fans as they will be able to download the "Captain Price Legend Pack" which includes the Price Weapon Camo, Patch, Badge, Reticle, player card and also being able to play as Captain Price in the multiplayer game. All of these for an extra US$3.99.

If many of us are expecting for Captain Price to appear in the next COD: Ghosts title, perhaps we should lower our expectations a bit as it seems that Activision and the game developers have made a fresh start with the COD: Ghosts and leaving all the other characters in the other series under the COD franchise in those previous titles. The appearance of Captain Price as downloadable game pack is more of squeezing a few extra bucks from gamers of COD: Ghosts.

But for those who are nostalgic about the Modern Warfare and the older COD Titles, the appearance of Captain Price in COD: Ghosts even as just a DLC, will spice up the multiplayer mode.

As to the next COD title, we still have to hear about the "Next-Gen First" game which Sledgehammer Games is developing.
