A lot of airsoft players, especially those who are still up to doing video gaming since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was introduced a decade ago, are looking forward to next Modern Warfare with their expectations high. Since it was announced early this year, many have applauded the comeback of the single player campaign and return of some characters, especially Captain Price. It also has the multiplayer mode as well as coop mode. But there is another one introduced which is the 2 vs 2 “Gunfight” mode.

“Gunfight” being a 2 vs 2 mode will take place in smaller maps with the weapons and equipment available selected by the match. It is a quick and intense matchup as the fight only has a 40-second time limit. If the 40-second time limit is up and if it is a draw, then an overtime flag will appear and the teams will have to defend the flag for 3 seconds and the defenders will score a point or frag the opposing team and score a point. The first team to reach 6 points wins.

With the time limits, the pressure to win is even more intense, and thus you will have to be thinking on your feet (or your fingers) as speed is the name of game.  The game has three maps:  Pine a map set in a forest; Stack, desert map with a container yard being the game area; and King, which is a warehouse area that will remind of you the original Modern Warfare training area when Soap gets to meet Captain Price for the first time.

Each map has different loadouts so familiarization is another issue and it is really being confident with your partner and skills will determine the results of each match.

Gunfight is not the only multiplayer mode with the COD Modern Warfare, as there is the usual multiplayer and cooperative gameplay which is squad-based. Though in all honesty, I am looking forward to the single play campaign as I want to know if it’s going to be a totally new storyline or if it picks up from where Modern Warfare 3 left, in which Captain Price finishes off Makarov and was the last main character alive in the Modern Warfare series.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set for release on 25 October 2019. It will be playable on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
