Call Of Duty: Ghosts' "Squads" Mode Gives You AI Players For Squadmates

Call of Duty: Ghosts is still months away and as it gets closer to launch date, we get peppered with more reveals, and this time more features for Multiplayer. There are two new modes in Multiplayer called "Cranked" and "Search and Rescue" and there also changes to perks. What's more, there are female soldiers now in Multiplayer, which some may bitch about, but for most of us, it's a welcome thing.

But the most significant feature is the "Squads" mode which I will write about more after showing you the Official Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer Reveal Trailer just released when I was writing this (which was last yesterday, 14 August 2013):

Now, let's talk about the "Squads" mode which basically allows you  to form a squad that you can play with and this squad is made up of AI (artificial intelligence) Players. To get them, you will need to unlock up to 10 different characters in Multiplayer mode. Each character will have its own loadout, unlocks, customisation, and prestige level. Thus, you can have 10 squad members to back you up in Multiplayer, making the game such fun, if you remember playing with AI soldiers first introduced in Counter Strike (though initially, I hated them as they were dumb in the beginning rather than "Intelligent").

With the "Squads" mode, the first question is, how would you be able to use your squad in multiplayer match-ups? So far, the video shown by IGN shows about four squad-based multiplayer games:

  • Squad versus Squad - You and your squad versus another human player with his/her squad.
  • Squad Assault - This is a good feature, that when a human player is offline, you can still play with his/her squad in a coop game that can be played with up to 6 players. There are more offline options to do by the player but at least you get to play against some players without waiting for other players to join.
  • Wargame - Swapping AI soldiers with a friend anytime, you can play in 5-soldier squad against another 5-soldier squad.
  • Safeguard - This is an up to four player cooperative game in which you try to survive against waves of enemies.

The tip here is to actually assign squad roles for each of the AI player so you can customise the loadout of each to maximise the effectiveness. By having a really good combination, you can build a formidable squad which you can pit against others.

There is still so much to learn about the "Squads" mode, being an interesting feature in the multiplayer gaming component of COD Ghosts. This can be a useful feature for those not interested in joining player clans, and just want to have fun on their own, with a little help from some AI friends.
