Brad Pitt Commands A Sherman Tank In World War II Movie "Fury"

OptimusPrime

We get back to a story that we were supposed to have posted last week as it was the E3 Week but we waited for more information about this movie. For those who follow World War II stories would look forward to this movie. The trailer was shown last week during the promotion of the "World of Tanks" video game at the E3, this movie shows that Brad Pitt is back with another World War II movie.

Called "Fury" Brad Pitt is Wardaddy (now, that sounds like a cool sign to use in Airsoft forums), a U.S. Army Sergeant who commands a  Sherman tank called Fury with a 5-man crew.

The story is set near the end of World War II, where the Allies are making a big push into Nazi Germany. Wardaddy and his crew were sent in a daring mission behind enemy lines. Whilst the odds were against in terms of both firepower and men, they drive on as they wreck havoc against the enemies in their own land.

Filming was done in 2013 in Oxfordshire where the production caused some furor when they decided to do some filming during Remembrance Day as part of the production would require some actors and extras to wear Nazi uniforms.  Director David Ayers and Sony Pictures issued an apology that they "deeply regret any misunderstandings caused".

Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Scott Eastwood and Jon Bernthal are also in this cast which Director Ayers says in the video that together with Wardaddy, "They’re exhausted, they’re tired, they’re grief-stricken, they’re combat fatigued. It’s really about a family under incredible stress."

The movie is set to premiere in the United Kingdom in October 2014 with the full release in November.  The Tiger I tank that was used in the movie is the only operational Tiger 1 Tank in the world and is found at the Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset. This was not the famous Tiger 1 tank replica which was used as a prop for other World War II movies and a mainstay  at the yearly War and Peace Show.
