BATMAN set to join the US Air Force

Logan

You might be thinking of a new Bat plane direct from Gotham City to be part of the US Air Force arsenal as Bruce Wayne gets bored with his vehicles and prefers to fly rather than be ferried in a limo or in his bat mobile when he dons on his batsuit. Sorry to disappoint you folks, but it's about a program of the US Air Force designed to equipped special operations troops of the branch to lessen the weight of their loadout with more high tech tools that can be used in long range operations, para rescue, or seizing of vital airsoft fields during war.

BATMAN, also known as Battlefield Air Targeting Man-Aided kNowledge (really a stretch), is a series of various devices for the operator. This is not the same as the DARPA-funded BaTMAN (Biochronicity and Temporal Mechanisms Arising in Nature) program. The USAF BATMAN is an assortment of communications hear, computer, headset, and helmet displays (and the batteries!) that will lessen their load but give them an effective battlefield awareness in the conduct of their missions.

Set to replace existing equipment that overburden the troops and also caused them to commit errors in calling airstrikes that struck friendly troops, BATMAN is said that it will help in avoiding equipment or coordinate reading failures. Errors in such event led to troops in the frontlines to use pen and paper.

A laptop computer is hooked on to the Operator's chest, which Bruce Wayne may not approved as it's not sexy enough for his taste. They also created a "Bat hook" with which the soldiers can throw over powerlines and can get some juice when they need more for their equipment and other purposes.

This is not actually a new program as it was started in 2004. But now they're now coming up with their prototypes to show to the generals for further funding and approval for field tests. No target date specified when the USAF special operations  troops (such as the Para Rescue) will be able to use them in real world missions.
