Arc'teryx Urban Wolf Defines A New Type Of "Urban Blend"

Logan

The Soldier Systems Blog has extensively been covering the new Urban Wolf Color from Arc'teryx which is getting a lot of attention from tactical apparel observers and that includes us as this new color promises a new type of "Urban Blend" which means this color is disruptive in urban environments and a blessing for urban operators.

As explained by Arc'teryx:

From a distance, or in situations with marginal light, the greyscale tone of most surfaces is dark grey. Concrete, glass, asphalt and rooftops are common modern backgrounds, environments that are subject to low ambient light and shadows. In these conditions, black stands out in the shadows, easily identifiable and clearly defined. In contrast, dark grey is the least visible colour; it blends into its surroundings.

Optimized for urban and industrial environs and their margins, Wolf breaks with tradition and introduces a colour blend for modern environments. A modern alternative to traditional uniform colourways, grey is less traditional and therefore a less recognizable uniform of authority. Wolf introduces a covert tonal shade for law enforcement purposes in urban environments.

I have to admit, I like this new shade of gray. Haley Strategic Partners (HSP) had some photos which you can also find at Soldier Systems and the photo below above how the Urban Wolf color blends into the shadows. And for units such as the SWAT and other special units, this shade would be an effective urban operations.

The Urban Wolf would be available in Arc`teryx Drac Jacket, Drac Pant, and Naga Hoody. The Naga Hoody looks very interesting, and as shown in the HSP photo below the Arc'teryx products, it is a well made apparel. Optimus Prime wants one of these and of course including the Drac.

You can download the Arc'teryx LEAF 2012 Pocket Guide to find all the products that geared towards Law Enforcement and Armed Forces (LEAF) and find what other lines have the Urban Wolf color. A video of the Urban Wolf being explained in a video taken by SOFREP.
