American Airsoft Players Gear Up For Memorial Day Weekend

Logan

It's that time of the year when the whole of the United States of America gather together wherever they are,  to observe the fallen --- American soldiers who have died in the battlefield since the Civil War. It also marks the start of Summer Season, which also means that airsoft players from all over dust up their gear as each weekend during the season will be filled with airsoft games and events.

Airsoft players from all over the nation will start the Summer Season with a lot of games available during Memorial Weekend. These range from almost open all hours airsoft fields to big ops, where players get to meet other players from other players for a weekend filled with operations, beer, barbeque, and tents.
If you haven’t planned your weekend yet, better login to the big airsoft forums where players have been discussing what their plans are. Chances are, you might find some friends who will be going to an airsoft event at the nearest airsoft field or a long trip to a milsim event. Veterans may just find airsoft events where they can join in for free, while civilians have to pay for their participation.

With the whirlwind of airsoft events kicking up a storm for airsoft all across the USA, the epicenter for airsoft this weekend will be in Oklahoma, where Oklahoma Invasion 7, now known as Operation Broken Home, will be starting today one of the largest airsoft milsim events in the world. With over 600 milsim enthusiasts having pre-registered, American Milsim, formerly known as Milsim Events, will be pulling out all the stops to give their players the best airsoft experience that can be rarely found anywhere else. As a testament to player satisfaction, this event was voted as the Best Airsoft Event for the Popular Airsoft Players' Choice Awards for two consecutive years. The organizers, Claymore and Frost, are known to pull together a crack team of airsoft event organizers to pull this off successfully year after year after year.

Just like the previous Oklahoma Invasions, expect the organizers of Operation Broken Home to throw in everything, including the kitchen sink: APCs, attack vehicles, and that helicopter gunner that will rain mayhem of hapless airsoft players from above.

The Tominator of the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog pitches in to give his advice how to prepare for such events. his advice can prove to be useful as that's how we also prepare when going to big ops. Make sure that what you bring are the necessary stuff. Do not carry the usual geardo stuff that will make you look good in photos, but would bog you down during ops itself. Since airsoft ops do not usually have continues missions night and day for a 2 or three day duration, carry with you at least a 1-day assault pack. Even your vest should be light, and chest rig or fast attack plate carrier would be useful. What is very important though are back-up guns, enough ammo, a multi-tool, hydration, protective gear, first-aid, and communications. Bring your camera along so you can bring home memories.

There will be more events to follow once June hits. There's also the upcoming Evike East Coast Event being organized by Moondog, NYC Airsoft and FilForce which is the Tantalum Contract and the Elite Force Airsoft Wars. Another is the Weekend of Heroes Airsoft Expo in Ohio. On the West Coast, Airsoft Extreme will be having a CQB Tactical Event if you want to train under a Tier One Operator from the US Army. And by the time Autumn arrives, Fulda Gap will finish the season as the last big airsoft event. As I have mentioned above, check all the events calendars of airsoft stores and airsoft forums, there will be more events that you will find, and it will be just too bad you can't attend them all even if you want to.
