Always At The Ready: "Behind Every Blade Of Grass"

Logan

For any person who knows his World War II history, especially in the Pacific Theatre, he or she would immediately understand that phrase. It is part of a quote which was attributed to Admiral Yamamoto, but never confirmed… "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." Regardless of its origins; there is plenty of truth in the words." Even Tom Clancy mentioned this in one his books. But one thing is clearly said about this quote --- that with gun ownership an enshrined right in the U.S. Constitution, it would be fool hardy for any foreign power to consider invading the mainland USA. There will be a gun pointing at them from the shores to the cities every step of the way.

This group of shooters in the USA will surely make anyone think twice. While they all come from different backgrounds, they share a passion for shooting. I would not delve into the politics of gun control and gun violence here, but I would rather admire these guys in making themselves at the ready when it's time to defend the Homeland. If not the homeland, they're own families and homes.

Watch the video below, you'll see the proficiencies not only at shooting properly, but shooting on the move, which is very important in a very fluid tactical environment:

I know that each and every airsoft player would love to own and wear each gun and gear that these guys have on, which we think around 90% of the names mentioned in the video description are already available in the airsoft market. But for me what is important is that if an airsoft player considers himself already beyond the usual weekend skirmisher, then he or she must devote some of this time to develop proficiencies like these guys do. No matter how good you will look on the field, but you cannot shoot and move as a good, then you just wasted your money. Nothing wrong with buying all that gear that will be useless on you, you will still make the vendors happy so they can make even better products.

Proficiency will also make an airsoft player an even more reliable team player. Developing shooting skills as an individual and also as a member of a team will also help an airsoft team to be admired and invited at airsoft events, from competitive ones to large scale events and given some of the best if not toughest roles. As long as such team cohesion and skills level doesn't come with an arrogant or condescending mindset, such an airsoft team will be emulated by other teams and individual players.

Some will say, "Hey! It's just airsoft, no big deal about it!" It is very foolhardy to say that. In countries where firearms ownership is banned, developing such proficiency would always mean resorting to airsoft guns. Thus, being at the ready to defend (and to go on offensive), airsoft will play a role. Which also means that I strongly encourage airsoft players to be as proficient as the guys in the video.
