Airsoft Kit Wish: M1 Garand EBR Tactical Stock System

OptimusPrime

The M1 Garand airsoft gun is one that I would have as part of the my "must have" in my airsoft gun shopping list. I am a fan of this rifle as I've shot with it ages ago and I love the pinging sound it generates when the 8-round en bloc clip empties though this noise was a dead give away to Axis soldiers during World War II for them to counterattack. The GIs eventually learned how to use the sound to their advantage by making the same pinging noise to get the enemies expose themselves, thinking that they have emptied their load.

With more airsoft companies releasing their more affordable versions of the M1 Garand, such as G&G and ICS, I've been looking forward to having a more modern version of the rifle, such as having an EBR kit for it, just like the M14 had its own EBR version. The good thing is that SAGE International has three types of the EBR kits as reported by The Firearm Blog and all them have the following features:

  • Increases accuracy
  • Reduces perceived recoil
  • Picitanny Rail mounting surfaces at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock accommodate numerous add-on sighting options
  • Chassis is all aluminum construction
  • Hard anodized finish
  • Drop-in close tolerance construction, no bedding required
  • Rifle can be returned to its original configuration, no permanent modifications

The issue here of course is which airsoft company should be the first to market such M1 Garand EBR kits? I would put my bet on G&G Armament as they already have two versions of the M14 EBR AEG (GR14 HBA-Long and GR14 HBA-Short) and after releasing their M1 Garand AEG in June, they might follow it through with an M1 Garand HBA as they just need to adjust their existing EBR chassis to fit their M1 Garand AEG. Just drop in their M1 AEG box into it, and they're good to go. We do not know yet if ICS would also develop their own M1 Garand EBR versions given their distinct approach to AEG technology might make it more problematic for them to immediately follow through with an EBR version. As for Marushin? I'll just shrug as but I would welcome a shell-ejecting version from the company.

And to add to that, I hope it won't weigh 5 kilos. Looking forward to the airsoft version.
