An Airsoft Game That Turned Into A Nightmare

Gungho Cowboy

A movie that is slowly being discussed among airsoft players is about a group of friends that went out to play a game of airsoft at an abandoned military facility that was previously used for secret experiments. As they went to do some skirmishes, they stumbled into three deranged ex-soldiers that turned the game into a hunt with real guns. It became the game of their lives.

The friends, Alex, Rico, Chino, Thomas, Diana and Monica  have no recourse but to fight back, and planned to survive by being able to get their hands on real weapons. As its synopsis says it became a "jounery of blood, mines, arrows, tortures, innocent deaths, but als love, brotherhood, passion, struggle for life."

"War Games (At The End Of Day)" is directed by Italian film director, Cosimo Alemà, who started doing films in the early 1990s, and founded the movie outfit "The Mob". The movie was made in 2010, but the movie title will confuse you. "War Games" was a movie in 1983 that was starred in by Matthew Broderick, whom, as a hacker, unknowingly played a computer game that but was an actual live military exercise, threathening the world with a nuclear attack. Whilst "At the End of the Day" was used in films and tv shows. Thus, it's tough really getting more information about movie online as you will be inundated with search results that don't point you to the right direction. Only more diligent searching did we find its official website.

The film is expected to be released in European theatres in Spring 2011, however, it's almost Summer Season, and there have been no news about its official release date. Optimus Prime said he had a discussion of this with some guys from First and Only Airsoft, and their take is that this might go straight for a DVD release rather than shown in cinemas. Cinemavault hold the distribution rights of this film, but at their website, there is no further information on this film. Whilst it's said that this based on a true story in 1988, there's no reference to the actual story.

Anyway this is a film that airsoft, as it is, is used as part of a movie that is geared towards the movie-going public. Airsoft guns are no strangers to production outfits as they are used as props in movies and tv shows with computer generated muzzle flashes. This time, we get to see airsoft the way it is played, even with actors and actresses being the skirmishers.

If anybody of you has watched the movie, we would be happy to hear from you. For now, you can watch the trailer below:
