As part of Netflix Geeked Week, they posted on YouTube the opening clip of the upcoming Netflix 3DCG “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” anime series. Watching the clip, one would assume to be watching an animated version of “Blackhawk Down.”

The clip shows Jason and the U.S. Army Mad Dogs on a mission in the Republic of Penamstam in 2000.  One the choppers gets shot down and defying orders, Jason and his team decided to land on hostile territory to rescue survivors. They get attacked by the local militia. That’s where the clip stops.

But before this clip, there was a teaser released by Netflix previously that the men about the rescued by the Mad Dogs were already dead and moving in strange ways. It is said that in this operation, Jason got introduced to bioweapons and was able to escape. He later went on to join Leon S. Kennedy as a Federal Agent.

“Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” is about Kennedy and Claired Redfield who undertake different missions but eventually had to team up to solve the a mystery in Penamstam when a terrifying experiment was conducted during a civil war, the war where Jason and Mad Dogs were involved in.

Set to be released on July 8, the series produced by TMS Entertainment and animated by Quebic. It is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi. Nick Apostolides plays Leon S. Kennedy, Stephanie Panisello as Claire Redfield, Ray Chase as Jason, Jona Xiao as Shen May, Billy Kametz as Patrick, Joe J. Thomas as Graham, Doug Stone as Wilson and Brad Venable as Ryan.
