Beretta has launched a new pistol that aims to give shooters a competitive edge in the shooting sports. The 92XI Squalo, which means shark in Italian, is a tactical race gun that combines power, precision, and performance.

It is based on the 92X series, but with several enhancements that make it stand out from the crowd. It features a single-action only, flat-faced trigger that provides a consistent and smooth pull. It also has a lightweight, skeletonized hammer that allows for a faster lock time and a cocked and locked option.

The pistol has a fiber optic front sight that offers a clear and fast sight picture, as well as a mounting option for a mini red dot sight (MRDS) for added accuracy and versatility. The extended takedown lever and the adjustable mag release enable better control and faster follow-up shots. The flared magwell, designed by Toni System, facilitates quick and easy reloads and comes with three 18 + 4 round magazines.

The Squalo also boasts a unique grip design, created by Hogue exclusively for Beretta. The grip has a unidirectional, aggressive texture that mimics the skin of a shark and provides a secure and comfortable hold. The grip also enhances the aesthetics of the pistol, making it a distinctive and formidable firearm.

“We are excited to bring to the market the first 92XI true tactical race gun that was engineered to dominate the competition and elevate shooters’ performances”, says Nicola Lorenzi, Pistol Product Manager at Beretta. “The 92XI Squalo is born to win.”

The handgun is the latest addition to Beretta’s 92 family, which has a long and successful history in the military, law enforcement, and civilian markets. The 92 series is known for its reliability, durability, and accuracy, and has been adopted by several countries and organizations around the world.
