In a move that marries tradition with innovation, Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. has introduced an upgrade to the venerable Marlin 1895 Trapper Series rifle. The latest model is now adorned with Magpul ELG furniture, a testament to the seamless integration of classic aesthetics and modern utility.

The Marlin 1895's storied past is honoured in this American-crafted lever-action rifle, which continues to embody the brand's commitment to excellence and dependability. Drawing inspiration from the original Trapper Series, the updated version presents a robust and stylish black stock and forend, courtesy of Magpul Industries' reinforced polymer. This design ensures resilience against the elements while providing ergonomic comfort.

“We are proud to partner with Magpul to bring our customers this exciting new rifle,” said CEO and President, Chris Killoy. “Magpul has an excellent and well-deserved reputation for making some of the best accessories in the industry. This will provide consumers with a top-of-the-line rifle of unmatched quality.”

Functionality meets form in the Magpul furniture, which is as practical as it is visually appealing. The inclusion of M-LOK slots and QD attachment points facilitates the swift addition of tactical gear such as lights and slings. Moreover, a built-in storage compartment within the stock offers a handy solution for transporting additional rounds.

Customizability is at the forefront of the design, with the rifle featuring a length of pull spacer kit and a cheek riser kit. These allow shooters to tailor the rifle's fit to their preference, with up to 1.5 inches of adjustability in length of pull and the ability to modify the cheek weld for superior alignment when using scopes.

At the heart of the rifle's performance lies the formidable .45-70 Govt. cartridge, paired with a precision 16.17-inch cold hammer-forged barrel. The barrel's 1:20 twist rate is optimized for accuracy, and it comes threaded to accommodate various muzzle devices, complete with a protective cap.

Preserving the iconic look, the Marlin 1895 Trapper with ELG furniture maintains the classic stainless steel receiver, lever, magazine tube, and barrel. These elements are finished in a subtle satin sheen, contrasting elegantly with the black polymer furniture. The use of modern torx screws simplifies the rifle's maintenance, allowing for straightforward disassembly and reassembly.

Aiming is made swift and efficient with the upgraded Skinner Sights system. This setup includes a versatile Picatinny rail for mounting diverse optical devices, complemented by an adjustable rear peep sight and a robust Bear Buster front sight, enhancing the rifle's targeting capabilities.

Reflecting the enhancements, the new Marlin 1895 Trapper with ELG furniture is priced at an MSRP of $1,649. This represents a modest $150 increase over the standard model, justified by the advanced polymer furniture and the added versatility of the Picatinny rail, marking a new chapter in the legacy of this iconic rifle.
