Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Extraction

It’s official, the next Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six title, which was initially called Rainbow Six: Quarantine in 2019, will be released on the 16th of September of this year as “Rainbow Six: Extraction”. Early this year, it was speculated that the company will rename the game as “Rainbow Six: Parasite” as they have a rethink of the original title given the Covid-19 pandemic in which community and individual quarantines have been the norm to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The story, as revealed by the official trailer, is that player goes with a team called the Rainbow Exogenous Analysis and Containment Team (REACT), set out on a rescue mission and deal with the alien threat called the Archean. It still follows the Rainbow Six: Siege cooperative gameplay but in a different direction. The game will remind of “Left 4 Dead” in which the player and his/her team will have to go against different classes of enemies that have unique abilities which means a different approach at defeating them.

In the deepdive gameplay trailer, the player gets to choose from amongst the 18 Rainbow Six operators which include favourite Siege characters such as Hibana, Ela, and Ash to form a team. Each operator has a set of skills and weapons so one has to ensure a good balance of members in the team. In “Rainbow Six: Extraction” the game is set across 12 maps and the player will have to deal with missions using stealthy, tactics, and making tough decisions.

Rainbow Six Extraction will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. Players will be able to do cross play allowing players using different platforms to play together. More from Ubisoft below:

RAINBOW SIX EXTRACTION UNLEASHES TACTICAL CO-OP ACTION ON SEPTEMBER 16

Rainbow Six Extraction, formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, made its gameplay debut during today’s Ubisoft Forward, giving a taste of what to expect when the game launches on September 16. With development being led by Ubisoft Montreal, Rainbow Six Extraction is a PvE co-op experience where you and up to two other players can form a squad composed of Rainbow Six Operators who have joined Ash, Mira, and Thermite to form the Rainbow Exogenous Analysis and Containment Team (REACT).

As the next mainline game in the Rainbow Six franchise, Extraction offers plenty of exciting new features while building on tactical gameplay elements introduced in Rainbow Six Siege. To confront and eventually contain a growing alien threat known as Archæans, your squad can choose from a roster of 18 Rainbow Six Operators, each with their own set of gadgets, weapons, and abilities. Try different combinations of Operators to open new strategies to approach the Archæan threat in each of Extraction’s 12 maps. Set across four regions in the United States, these maps feature procedurally generated challenges, a diverse set of enemies, and infestations with increasing difficulty the further you go in the map, to keep your REACT squad on its toes and test your teamwork.

Of course, it’s not just about adjusting to the world and the Archæan presence – you’ll also need to make some tough decisions. After completing the mission within each containment sub-zone, you’ll have the option to extract your squad and net the rewards you’ve earned so far, or venture deeper into containment and risk what you’ve earned to confront tougher enemies and earn greater rewards. That gamble could mean temporarily losing one of your Operators, caught Missing in Action (MIA) within the containment zone. You’ll have to squad up and launch a rescue mission to recover your MIA Operator. What will your squad risk to complete its mission?

Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, and Stadia on September 16; is included with Ubisoft+, the Ubisoft subscription service*; and will support cross-play and cross-save across all platforms. If you already own Rainbow Six Siege and purchase Rainbow Six Extraction, its entire roster of 18 Operators will be unlocked for you in Rainbow Six Siege, along with a United Front cosmetic bundle for both games.

*$19.99 per month. Cancel anytime. The Deluxe Edition will be available as part of a Ubisoft+ subscription. More information at ubisoft-plus.com.
