Popular Airsoft Magazine Volume 2 Issue 2: Airsoft Oasis

OptimusPrime

Notice anything with the Magazine? Yes, we are now on an experimental bi-monthly release, making Popular Airsoft the only magazine available twice every month. We decided on this given the wealth of information being generated almost every day around the world of airsoft and it's just too good to miss. We hope that this will become a more permanent policy for the Magazine or even better. But only you, our Dear Readers, can tell us.

Going bi-monthly also strains our resources, as we search far and wide for those information, whether online or offline. We therefore enjoin interested players who have a knack for writing, an eye for that nice photo shoot, and the discipline to meet deadlines. to join our increasing roster of Popular Airsoft Operators, and Contactors (Contractors are our non-regular contributors). But we shall work hard to ensure that this experiment continues further, as long as our readers want it, and our writers even more prolific.

Now some reminders. The Rapier 01: World Airsoft Challenge preparations is now in full swing, and we send our invitations to interested teams in various countries. We now have bookings from North America, Middle East, Europe, and Asia-Pacific of teams wanting to battle it out and become the best airsoft team in the world. Our Kami Wars: Conflict Begins is now gaining strength as we are receiving reservations as the event comes even closer, just a little bit 3 months away. The last part of 2009 shall be really an eventful one, in terms of writing airsoft history, and airsoft soaring to new heights.

In this Popular Airsoft Magazine Volume 2 Issue 2, we break new grounds by presenting to you airsoft in the Middle East. Still a nascent sport in the region, efforts by Filipinos for airsoft to take root are now starting to bear fruit. The Unified Filipino Airsoft Club - Gulf Airsoft Federation (UFAC-GAF) is working hard to expand the sport to the different countries in the Middle East, be it underground, or find some ways for players to find sites to play in. Such as the case of players in the Saudi Arabia who have to drive all the way to Bahrain just to play airsoft. Sounds familiar to the case of the Dutch in Europe.

We let UFAC-GAF present themselves in this issue, as they have their own media group to give us the information and stories that they have for us. We start first with our very own Operator, Dom, who always transits in Dubai on his way back to his beloved Hungary, and reports about his first time airsoft game in Dubai with the UFAC-GAF members. It was a memorable one for him, and he intends to play more in Dubai whenever he is in town. UFAC-GAF's Operation Sandstorm After Action Report gives us their latest concluded big airsoft tournament, and now they have in the works the Gulf Airsoft League (GAL), which is the first international airsoft tounament in the region. The Middle East will be represented in the Rapier 01: World Airsoft Challenge, which in itself big news in the airsoft community.

When you're in the Gulf Region, and you want to experience playing airsoft, then you've got the right group to contact. Their hospitality is legendary, so says Dom.

We also have our photos of the Rules of Engagement CQB site, the new CQB site in Essex, where we thoroughly enjoyed airsoft CQB weekends at this site. Dom discusses the publication "The Year in Special Operations 2009" in which he was fortunate to procure at a US Military facility. He added further the Butler Patches, where we got a few patches of our own to use.

Moondog updates us with his Sci-Fi airsoft game "Buran", where groups battle each other out to get their hands on alien technology, but were repuilsed by the Buran, a robot that is invincible that it can take on 4 teams of airsoft players and manage to escape, paving the way for a reprise of this game. Optimus Prime briefly takes to his review of the Alta Industries Altalok Kneepads to find out why it is highyl recommend by airsoft players who have used it and swear by it.

Might2r, together with Master Chief, gives his review on the King Arms SIG-556 HOLO, the latest King Arms AEG with the electric blowback feature. He gives it a thumbs up and recommends it to everyone, and you do not have to worry about special magazines as it takes standard TM M4 magazines. Optimus Prime goes nostalgic and gives us another review of the TM 1911A1 airsoft handgun, which he declares his undying devotion to it.

So there you go, we now present to you the Popular Airsoft Magazine Volume 2 Issue 2 for your enjoyment.

Hoping to exchange BBs with you,

The Writers
