Popular Airsoft Magazine Volume 2 Issue 1: One Step Backwards, Two Steps Forward

OptimusPrime

We went into hiatus for several months as we thresh out new details in improving our information services to you. We are right now in the midst of several projects, ranging from development of new content delivery systems, creating partnerships, to organising events. Popular Airsoft is not just a publication, but a platform for the further promotion of airsoft, not only through publications, but through actual organising of events which can bring the sport right before the eyes of an approving the public.

You have been patient with us and for that we appreciate it so much.

We would like to announce that we are on a experimentation period of magazine releases for us to find the best way to provide latest stories and reviews, without being too late. Nowadays, publications are being engulfed by the Internet’s dynamism, the story had already been told online and archived for posterity, while magazines, whether printed or not, are just about to catch up. So some stories are already stale by the time the audience is reached. And that, our dear fellow airsofters, is what we would like to solve soon --- ensure that airsoft information is timely and relevant in whatever content platform we use.

Our strongest points have been our human interest stories and reviews, where we search high and low to find that information for airsoft players. So here in the first issue of our Volume 2 series, we start with Systema’s PTWs. There is always a dearth of information on Systema PTWs, in terms of in-depth reviews not made by retailers themselves. We have been honoured that we are able to have our hands on products from Systema Engineering, such as the PTW M4A1 Super Max, and the M4A1 Max 2 and TW5-A4 Max Professional Challenge Kits. We also have the Systema Revolution gearbox but we decided on having it reviewed for the next issue or two, as we are waiting for Dom to become available and do the review.

We also have in this issue interviews with Aidan Minter, the author of Airsoft Infidels, Clarence Lai the Airsoft Surgeon on what he uses for airsoft practical shooting, and with Julian of ICS. We then present you a night with the Hong Kong Airsoft Shooting Association (HKASA), a big group of airsoft practical shooters with a touch of class.

Moondog has been prolific in threshing out ideas and organising events for airsoft in the Eastern seaboard of the United States, just right across the pond. He has a game scenario that you can follow and promises us to even give us more stories of airsoft events they have in the pipeline.

Over the next few months, if nothing untoward happens, and if everything goes according to plan (which is rarely), we will be launching new initiatives where our previous ones have faltered. We want to try what can work, as it is better executing an idea that holds promise, rather than doing nothing at all.

Our invitation to you to become Popular Airsoft Operators always stands. We are dynamic group of airsoft enthusiasts spread across three continents, and we hope we can have more comrades join us write the stories which are all memories we shall always treasure.

Hoping to exchange BBs with you,

The Writers
