OPS-Store presents the T238 range of 40mm airsoft grenades that brings some modern electronics to the classic launcher experience. These aluminum devices include integrated USB-C charging, which is quite a leap from the days of just stuffing gas and plastic into a tube. Each model features a tracer module to make glow-in-the-dark BBs visible and a muzzle flash effect that uses LEDs to illuminate gas clouds, giving players a bit of cinematic flair without the actual fire hazard.
The lineup consists of three distinct flavors: the EXA, the Spin, and the Matrix. The EXA is the social butterfly of the group, spraying a wide cloud of BBs to ensure nobody feels left out. The Spin takes a more focused approach, firing a tighter, more linear stream of 50 BBs. Meanwhile, the Matrix is the eccentric cousin that launches an entire reusable capsule which then bursts mid-air. It is slightly lighter than its siblings, though it does require a small tool to turn on, which might be a bit fiddly if you have fingers the size of sausages.
During testing, the tracer and light effects proved effective, especially when paired with green gas to create a visible smoke puff. The presenter did manage to break a Matrix capsule after about ten launches, but since the box includes spares, it seems the manufacturers anticipated that some players might be a bit too enthusiastic. These grenades are a practical way to upgrade an old launcher with new technology, provided you remember to charge your ammunition before heading out to the field.
