Stupid Airsoft: Airsoft GM6 Lynx Sniper

Stupid Airsoft goes over a custom 3D-printed airsoft replica of the GM6 Lynx sniper rifle. The build was completed using design files from an independent creator and assembled by a separate workshop. This bullpup-style rifle is modeled after a Hungarian firearm originally intended for use against light armor. The construction consists of 3D-printed plastic along with metal hardware like springs and pins.

The replica operates with a dual-system approach for ammunition and cycling. A gas or HPA-powered magazine is inserted into the pistol grip to feed the projectiles. A second magazine located at the rear of the stock holds non-functional shells for the ejection mechanism. The rifle includes a blowback feature and a reciprocating barrel designed to mimic the mechanical action of the original firearm.

Performance testing shows that the rifle can engage targets at fifty feet, though it requires maintenance and adjustments. He found that magazine placement and air pressure levels are factors in ensuring the bolt cycles. Because many components are 3D-printed and joined with adhesive, the rifle has tolerances that affect its consistency. Future plans for the project include the potential for a version constructed from machined metal.
