Join Soldier 'I', Pete Winner, as he recalls the Battle of Mirbat... "Next month we take time to remember the 9 SAS soldiers who fought at the epic Battle of Mirbat. On 19th July 1972, in the small coastal town of Mirbat, Oman, Pete Winner and his eight comrades were attacked by an aggressive, highly organised and determined enemy force which outnumbered them 30 to 1. Facing seemingly impossible odds the scene was set for a remarkable fight for survival that gives testament to the courage, skill and tenacity of the British Army's Elite.
