Royal Marines The Rescue of Royal Marine Lance Corporal Mathew Ford

Perhaps airsoft reenactors can take inspiration from this story of the Rescue of Royal Marine Lance Corporal Mathew Ford, which happened during Operation Glacier Two in 2007, when looking for a story to base an airsoft event on. Video is from Liveth For Evermore: Military History... "In January 2007, the Royal Marines of 45 Commando, 3rd Commando Brigade, launched Operation Glacier Two in Helmand, Afghanistan. The target was Jugroom Fort and, after encountering stiff resistance, the Marines withdrew back to their Forward Operating Base.

However, on completion of the withdrawal, it was realised Lance Corporal Mathew Ford was Missing in Action. Subsequently, a rescue operation, involving three Royal Marines, a Royal Engineer and four Apache Helicopters was authorised to recover Lance Corporal Ford."
