Knight Rider gives his first impressions of the Flux Raider P365 Ultralight, a new polymer chassis designed to transform the SIG P365 into a highly compact, PDW-style platform. He notes that this version is lighter and more affordable than the previous aluminum model, making it an attractive option for those seeking a "cyberpunk-style" build for winter carry.
During live-fire testing with over 1,000 rounds, Knight Rider finds the setup "snappy" but manageable, offering significantly better speed and accuracy than a standard handgun. He praises the ergonomic improvements, such as the updated screw-on spring design and the compatibility with the SIG Fuse slide, which creates a very slim and maneuverable profile.
While the overall impression is positive, he mentions some concerns regarding the long-term durability of the plastic mag release and potential wear on the brace's locking mechanism. Despite these minor issues, the he highly recommends the Ultralight for its value and performance, especially considering it currently comes bundled with a dedicated holster.
