Same as the M-550 Deluxe, the M-550 Pro adds additional contents to the survival kit including: double trip wire (8' total), double water purification (4x), a p38 can opener, 2x butterfly sutures, 1 compressed towel (expands with water), dog tag signal mirror, 2x bobby pins, and 1 universal handcuff key. Waterproof matches reduced to from 8x to 6x but include 2 storm proof matches.

Optional Suunto compass upgrade in place of the standard compass is available for purchase. (Additional $10).

Orange 95 cord is stitched into the grenade lever for increased visibility in a survival situation. The 4' of Orange 550 cord found in the deluxe kit has been removed to make space for the additional kit items.

The compass is mounted under the handle allowing it to be used without deploying the kit. Also mounted externally is the ferrocerium fire starting rod attached where the lever is connected to the plug. Using a steel blade against the ferro rod, hot sparks can be generated to start a fire in an emergency. Additional fire starting materials are packed inside the kit such as waterproof matches and juste twine for tinder.
