Blackstar's Specna Arms SA-F05 Flex Review

Júlio from BlackStar checks out the Specna Arms SA-F05 Flex, a fresh addition to the shop's lineup that signals a departure from the usual suspects. The unboxing reveals a package that includes a mid-cap magazine, a cleaning rod, and even a battery and charger, which is a nice touch for those who hate shopping for extras. Júlio notes that while the charger looks a bit modest, the real star is the inclusion of a factory quality control certificate with hand-written test results, proving someone actually fired it before it was tossed in a box.

The rifle features a modern olive green polymer body that feels sturdy without being a gym workout to carry. It comes equipped with an electronic trigger system that offers more settings than a microwave, including binary mode, burst fire, and even a "sniper" mode with a built-in delay. There is a bit of a wobble with the magazine that might make you think the gun is doing a little dance, but it feeds reliably, and the functional bolt catch makes adjusting the hop-up feel much more professional than the usual finger-fumbling.

During the field test, the rifle proves it has some hustle, clocking in at over 18 shots per second right out of the box. The internal parts are fully ball-bearing supported, which helps explain why it sounds more like a sewing machine on caffeine than a toy. While the Júlio admits some parts like the basic sights could use an upgrade, the overall performance suggests that this green machine is ready for action, provided you don't mind the magazine's occasional wiggle.
