Crescent takes a look at the ATM M4 EBB, a budget-friendly gel blaster that somehow manages to include both a moving bolt and recoil for a price that won’t make your wallet weep. While the outer shell is mostly glass fiber rather than metal, it maintains a decent look with features like a functional charging handle and a decocking safety mechanism. It seems the manufacturers decided to save money on the internal bits you can't see, which is a fair trade-off for staying in the affordable hobby category.
The internal workings have been simplified to handle a 7.4V battery instead of the more powerful 11.1V used in pricier models, mainly because using a stronger battery might turn the plastic internals into confetti. Interestingly, the stock features storage compartments that look perfect for batteries but aren't actually big enough to hold them, serving as a nice decorative reminder of what could have been. The recoil is noticeable but gentle, providing just enough feedback to let you know the gun is actually doing something.
Despite the cost-cutting measures like white-printed markings instead of engravings, the rifle includes an electronic trigger system with programmable fire modes. Crescent suggests that while it might not be the best candidate for heavy modding due to proprietary parts, it functions quite well as a standalone unit. It is essentially the airsoft equivalent of a reliable used sedan—it gets the job done, has a few quirky design choices, and leaves you with enough money left over to actually buy some ammo.
