Another Arthurian Airsoft AEG, the Recon, is featured by SOCOM Tactical... "The airsoft rifle is part of the Arthurian Airsoft 'Excalibur' range of AEGs. There are several different models within this range, and something suitable for every player. The Excalibur AEGs are constructed fully using metal, with the option to add external parts so you can personalise the gun.

The outer barrel is only 4" long and has an integrated suppressor filled with foam which is 7.5" long, adding to the overall length of the rifle. The Excalibur range is highly popular and the Excalibur logo can be seen on the lower receiver. The gun is equipped with a bolt release which releases the locking bolt plate.

The fire selector settings are engraved with the typical 'Safe', 'Semi' & 'Auto' setting and there is a selector switch which clicks positively into place on each firing mode. The buffer tube is only 25mm long but does feature the Exchange & Chrono spring change system (an important feature of the Excalibur range).

To change the spring, you simply need to unscrew the ring on the stock tube, rotate the stock tube 45 degrees and pull it off. After that unscrew the knurled screw at the back and the spring & spring guide will pop out. Be careful not to let it fly across the room, it may release with some force. Ultimately, this process only takes about 30 seconds.

The gearbox

The gearbox is extremely well made. It resembles most mid range AEGs in terms of the components it is built with. All guns in the Excalibur series come preinstalled with 8mm bearings, a 15 metal tooth piston, enhanced tappet plate and the E&C spring change system.

The Arthurian Airsoft Excalibur Recon M4 AEG model comes with a battery compatible crane stock making it easy to find batteries that are compatible. The crane stock has two tabs at the back. If you press these then the back plate comes off, then you are able to remove the rear spacer and you can install your battery. The stock is adjustable between 6 positions which extend up to an extra 80mm giving you plenty of choice for a comfortable shooting configuration.
