Airsoft Tech takes on the challenge of transforming a standard airsoft rifle into a high-performance DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle). The process begins with a complete teardown, where he explains that while the original internals aren't terrible, they aren't quite ready for glory either. To keep the player's back from complaining during long matches, a lightweight carbon fiber outer barrel and a fancy CNC gearbox are introduced to the mix.
The upgrade path hits a few speed bumps, proving that even universal parts sometimes refuse to be friends. The technician has to perform a bit of unplanned surgery on the cylinder head and piston to make everything fit inside the new shell. After some trial and error with incompatible gears and a specialized motor that promises to sip battery power like a fine tea, the rifle is finally assembled and tuned for immediate trigger response.
The grand finale takes place at a makeshift range where the rifle is tested at a distance of 80 meters. Despite some breezy weather and a tree that seemingly jumped in the way of a few shots, the DMR manages to land several impressive hits on a target. Airsoft Tech advises that you don't necessarily need to spend a small fortune to get top-tier results, though your wallet might still feel a bit lighter after buying all those high-tech components.
